We’ve got a bit of a different take on our weekly recipe round-up this week, one of our favourite indulgences - cookbooks! We love nothing better than spending a lazy Sunday curled up with our cats and a stack of cookbooks, perusing the beautiful photos and looking for new inspiration.
As the word gets out about all the amazing health food bloggers out there, for many of them publishing a cookbook is the next logical step. With two of our favourite wellness personalities publishing books in the past few weeks, we’ve done a round up of the new and forthcoming books we are lusting after at the moment. Not on the list below are new cookbooks by Green Kitchen Stories and My New Roots which we are also really looking forward to getting our hands on!
If you’re inspired to bulk out your cookbook collection head over to our Book recommendations!
Have you bought any of these new books? What are your thoughts? What’s your all-time favourite healthy cookbook? Let us know in the comments below.
1. HEMSLEY + HEMSLEY – THE ART OF LIVING WELL (OUT NOW)
Firm favourites here at The Holist HQ, we are so excited for the release of the H+H girls’ first cookbook, the Art of Eating well. As Vogue’s food bloggers in residence, these fashionable sisters are the ‘go-to’ nourishing food and detox service for celebs and the fash pack in London.
In the Art of Eating well the sisters outline their philosophy for living a mindful life nourishing yourself from within with quality food. Of course this is served alongside their practical nutrient packed recipes showcasing grain- and sugar-free, whole and unprocessed foods with the signature fashionable flair that we've come to love from them.
2. JESSICA SEPEL - THE CLEAN LIFE E-BOOK (OUT NOW)
Aussie nutritionist and wellness coach bombshell Jess Sepel is another one of our favourite healthy bloggers as regular readers will be well aware.
In her e-book debut, The Clean Life, Jess offers her tips on “how to transform your body and live a cleaner, happier and healthier life”. A marriage of Jess’ wellness studies and her experiences on her personal wellbeing journey, the book is jam-packed full of her realistic principles for good health, meal planning advice and inspiration, hundreds of gluten-, sugar- and dairy-free recipes plus lots of paleo, vegan and vegetarian friendly options and interactive worksheets, food diaries and resources to help you track your progress.
3. YOTAM OTTOLENGHI - PLENTY MORE (SEPTEMBER 2014)
Ottolenghi is one of our favourite delis in London and we love Yotam’s middle-eastern inspired original take on flavours and food combinations. His last book, Plenty focused made vegetables centre stage and reinforced that vegetarian food can be interesting and packed full of flavour, even if you’re a carnivore!
The forthcoming Plenty More, is an extension of its predecessor with 120 mouth-watering new vegetable based recipes organised by cooking method. Whether grilled, baked, simmered, cracked, braised or raw, the book promises something for everyone.
4. ELLA WOODWARD - DELICIOUSLY ELLA (JANUARY 2015)
Given how often we rave about her, Ella Woodward should need little introduction! We are so excited to watch the star of this home grown talent just keep on rising. It's an understatement to say we can't wait till next year for Ella to unveil her new creations!
It’s a testament to just how popular she is that her first proper cookbook is already on the Amazon best-seller list based on pre-orders alone! Keep your eyes peeled!
5. AMELIA FREER - THE FREER FOOD WAY (JANUARY 2015)
Another Brit championing the healthy cause is nutritional therapist Amelia Freer (credited with Boy George’s amazing weight loss!). You've likely seen her work before as she's regularly featured in the glossies and Sunday papers. We are love Amelia's blog over at her Freer Nutrition site. Amelia has been releasing a series of seasonal e-books this year to get us all warmed up for the release of her first full length book next January! Start your countdown now!
